It is that time of year again, for what is turning into annual tradition on this blog: my Premier League prediction table. Last season’s attempt to predict who would finish where saw me correctly name five places, with another six guesses being one position away, as well as being accurate in picking City as FA Cup winners, QPR to be first in the Championship. That’s almost matching The Guardian’s own guesses (spot on five times, close seven times). As Kryten would say: “ah; smug mode.”

As I’ve specifically reported on North-West teams for the first time this season, and watched many more games then just Manchester United, it seemed only right that if I were to pen a “Best XI” that it were to have a North-West theme to it.
So here are my eleven, based on individual performances over the season, and how it’s effected their own teams games, and league standings. I originally set out to not pick more than three players for a team, but as I worked things out, this rule did not need to be utilised. What this resulted in, is the XI best players from the North-West this season, in my opinion.

As ruthless as football can be sometimes, it’s never considered pleasant to kick a team when they’re down. With fans, and be honest with yourselves here, there’s only so much misery you’d like heaped upon your rivals, right?
